Jaylen McClain apparently made history for the Ohio State Buckeyes, notching at least eight tackles and four pass breakups—a feat reportedly not accomplished by any Buckeye defender in over 30 years. His breakout Silver Bullet Award-winning performance against Illinois sparks discussion about the shifting dynamics in Ohio State’s secondary that's become the standout unit of this defense.
Meanwhile, Ohio State’s choice to debut the Sub-Zero all-white uniforms and new white cleats against Iowa is stirring some unsettling superstitions. With previous appearances in these unis tied to weirdly similar road losses, I wonder if this bold fashion statement will inspire a win or tempt fate in one of the Big Ten’s toughest venues. Are the Buckeyes risking it all for style, or is it time to rewrite history in white?
